Overview

SpecLink Cloud received a list of important improvements on 10/15/2023.

Improvements

The following improvements were made to SpecLink Cloud:

Tags are Removed after Refresh

When a user copies a Master or User branch with tags, after pasting the branch it appears as if the tags are pasted too, but once the browser is refreshed the tags disappear. This issue is now resolved.

Invalid Text Error

While replacing the word “misfabrication” with “fabrication error" users were getting an invalid text error. This issue is now resolved.

Formatting Issue Section vs. Project Export to PDF

A user reported that when exporting a Section to PDF, the formatting (spacing) appeared to be different than when they exported the Section as part of the Project export to PDF. This issue has been corrected so that formatting for both "Export Section to PDF" and "Export Project to PDF" matches.

Autonumbers Printing when Track Changes On

Resolved the issue where the Autonumber was printing for deleted user paragraphs and for excluded paragraphs when Track Changes is on. Now the expected result of when the Autonumber should not appear is working correctly.

Zooming in When Comments on Screen is Not Working Correctly

When a user zooms in past 100% on the SpecLink Cloud zooming feature, and Comments are on screen, their comments either do not pop up or they show up lower than the paragraph. This issue is resolved and users can now see the Comment box correctly next to the paragraph when zooming in.

Paragraphs are Duplicated After using Delete Paragraph then using Undo (with Track Changes On)

With Track Changes on, a user would delete a paragraph but then immediately use Undo to restore the paragraph. As the original “delete paragraph” had not saved completely, the Undo resulted in duplicate paragraphs being displayed in the document window.

The issue has been resolved, and if users perform certain actions and then try to immediately click Undo, they may find that Undo is disabled until the editing has been saved to the database. The Undo button will then be enabled as soon as the auto-save is completed.

Using Backspace in Text in a Table Deletes all Text in the Table Cell When Track Changes Is On

Resolved the issue where a user tries to use Backspace to delete text that is in bold, italic, or underline in a table cell while Track Changes is on, and all text in the table cell is deleted. Now only “backspaced” text will be deleted.

When Adding Paragraphs to a Table Cell, the Paragraphs are Added Below the Table and not in the Table Cell (with Track Changes on)

With Track Changes on, a user when copying multiple paragraphs from an outside text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, Word, etc.), and pasting into a Table Cell in SpecLink Cloud, the paragraphs were being added below the table and not in the table cell. This issue has been resolved.

Single Row, Single Column Cell or Table Disappears

When a user inserts text into a single row/single column table, the text is not inserted into the table, but appears above the table/line (not properly into the table cell). This can occur under the following conditions:

Track Changes is on and user accepts the removal of the word/text from the cell with backspace.
Track Changes is on and while selecting single or multiple words in the table cell and the backspace key is used.

This issue has been resolved – users can now enter text into a single row/column table, and the table will not appear to “disappear” after user accepts the removal of words/text from the cell using Track Changes.

Various Data Fixes Applied

Various data fixes that are project-specific or customer-specific have been applied since the previous SpecLink Cloud release.
