Overview
SpecLive Impact has robust searching tools allowing you to combine options and filters to define and save your searches for future use.
This article will detail the basic search tools of SpecLive.
SpecLive Impact also provides the ability to create a default search that will run upon login. Click here to learn how to set a default search.
Begin by selecting a search option or a combination of the options available. Review the Search Filters article after learning about the search options here.
Search Options
Please review the Simple Search article before using the Search Builder.
The search options in SpecLive Impact are Manufacturer, Project Name, and Company, or any combination of the three.
Manufacturer
Enter a full or partial manufacturer name or product line ("CMC Commercial Metals", "Galvabar", etc.) to review a list of the projects that include the search criteria.
Project Name
Enter a full or partial project name ("South High School", "Bembree Hospital", etc.) to review a list of projects that include the search criteria.
Company
Enter a full or partial firm name ("Perkins", "Hunt", etc.).
Performing a Search Using the Search Builder:
Follow the steps below to perform a basic search:
- Click the Search Builder button at the top of the screen next to the Simple Search bar.
The search builder will appear as below:
If a Manufacturer, Project Name, or Company has been entered in the Simple Search bar, it will carry through to the search builder.
- Click one of the 3 tiles from the options list.
The selected search option will appear in the search field ready for text to be entered as pictured below. If the text becomes de-selected, simply double click to select and begin entering a search term.
- Enter the desired search criteria in the search field. The image below displays the Manufacturer option with "WR Meadows" entered.
- Click the search button to invoke the search.
Boolean Search Operators
SpecLive Impact provides the ability to utilize Boolean search operators "AND", "OR", & "NOT" as part of your search criteria.
The Boolean search offers countless combinations of searching. Click on the operator and then continue the search criteria. Below, the pictured example depicts a search asking for "WR Meadows" NOT "Dayton".
