Overview
SpecLink Cloud received a list of important improvements on 7/8/2024.
Improvements
The following improvements were made to SpecLink Cloud:
- Red Text in Sections with Incorrect Spacing
- Choices Not Importing Correctly while Automated Reference Standards is Off
- During Import From Word, .Doc Files Cannot Import
- Reference Standards Imported from Word to a Canadian Master
- Various Data Fixes Applied
Red Text in Sections with Incorrect Spacing
When a section is removed from a project, the Section ID will show as red text instead of green text.
Occasionally these red Section ID’s would appear with extra spaces in the text itself, in both Global Terms and Choice Fields. This has been corrected so the text appears as expected, with no extra spaces in the words.
Choices Not Importing Correctly while Automated Reference Standards is Off
When importing a Word document as a specification section with conversion of Reference Standards to enhanced text turn off, but the "Look for Coded Fields" option is turned on, some of the choices were not converting into SpecLink Cloud.
This has been corrected so that the expected enhanced text conversion occur properly on import from Word, regardless of which settings are enabled/disabled.
During Import From Word, .Doc Files Cannot Import
When Importing a Word document as a specification section, both .doc and .docx file types should import properly (as long as the underlying Word version was not an obsolete version per Microsoft). There have been some reports that .doc file types were no longer able to be imported.
This has been corrected so that both .doc and .docx Word documents can be imported into SpecLink Cloud, as long as the document can be opened/edited/saved in a current version of Microsoft Word.
Reference Standards Imported from Word to a Canadian Master
The latest release of SpecLink Cloud allowed for the conversion of Reference Standards to enhanced text. However, when importing a Word document as a specification section into a project that was based on the Canadian master set in SpecLink Cloud, the Reference Standards were not converting.
This has been corrected so Import from Word with Reference Standard enhancement will work for all projects (USA and Canadian-based projects).
Various Data Fixes Applied
Various code and data fixes that are project or customer specific have been applied since the previous SpecLink Cloud release.
