SpecLink Cloud received a list of important improvements on 8/5/2023.
Improvements
The following improvements were made to SpecLink Cloud:
- Reference Standard updates were not being marked in projects consistently
- Using bold in tables with Track Changes on resulted in text corruption
- Cell text would reformat after pasting text into a table, then applying bold to the text
- Extra spaces appear around choices in Submittals Log Reports
- Deleting a corrupt Global Term {GT#} in a table changes the table structure
- Collaborators with the Manager role are unable to edit a shared project
- Attempting to refresh a browser or use Undo/Redo before previous edits have saved resulted in a loss of data
- Accepted or Deleted track changes paragraph reappears when navigating away from section
- Various data fixes have been applied
Reference Standard Updates Were Not Being Marked in Projects Consistently
The following issues with master or user Reference Standard (RS) updates have been corrected:
- When either a master or user Reference Standard (RS) had a pending update in a project, and then the RS was used in a new section (master or user section) for the project, the RS in the new section did not consistently show that it had an update pending.
- Section "014219 - Reference Standards" was not showing the RS updates and update count for the entire project, preventing users from seeing RS updates project-wide, and also preventing users from updating Reference Standards from this section.
Using Bold in Tables with Track Changes on Resulted in Text Corruption
An issue was discovered when Track Changes was on and a user created new enhanced text (choice field, global term, etc.) and dragged the new enhanced text into a table cell, then unbolded the added text, the text would convert into HTML code. This issue has been resolved.
Cell Text Would Reformat After Pasting Text into a Table, then Applying Bold to the Text
Resolved the issue when pasting any text into a table cell, then selecting and applying bold to a portion of the text, would change the text to bold but the cell structure where the text was located was being reformatted. This has been fixed for both pressing CTRL+B using the keyboard or applying bold from the SpecLink Cloud toolbar.
Extra Spaces Appeared Around Choices in Submittals Log Reports
Resolved the issue where extra spaces were appearing before and after some choices in the Submittals Log Report (Export to Excel Only).
Deleting a Corrupt Global Term {GT#} in a Table Changed the Table Structure
When a global term becomes corrupted in SpecLink Cloud, a {GT#} would appear. After deleting any Global Term (including a corrupt Global Term) from a table cell, the structure of the table was being changed. This issue has been resolved.
Collaborators with the Manager Role are Unable to Edit a Shared Project
When a project is shared with a user with edit permissions included, and the user has an SpecLink Cloud subscription, they should be able to edit the shared project. Users with the Manager role were unable to edit these shared projects. This issue has been corrected.
Attempting to Refresh the Browser or use Undo/Redo Before Previous Edits Have Saved Resulted in a Loss of Data
- When selecting “Accept/Reject All Track Changes” from the edit option menu while track changes was in progress of saving, users could not identify whether the accepting or rejecting of the track changes has completed and been saved.
- This issue could also occur if a user deleted a paragraph branch.
- In the above two scenarios, attempting to use Undo/Redo, refresh the browser, or navigate away from the current section was resulting in some loss of data. This occurred due to the first operation not completing before initiating a second operation.
- A reminder now appears if a user attempts to further edit a section before all changes have been saved, giving the user a chance to wait for the save operation to complete.
Accepted (deleted) Track Changed Paragraph Reappears When Navigating Away from the Section
While Accept/Reject track changes are in progress and the user navigates away using the browser buttons (for example, the back arrow), there was no alert message to notify the user that saving was still in progress.
An alert message has been added and will display while Accept/Reject track changes are in progress, giving the user a chance to wait for the save operation to complete.
Various Data Fixes Applied
Various data fixes that are project-specific or customer-specific have been applied since the previous SpecLink Cloud release.
