Overview
An exclusion search allows a manufacturer to quickly find companies that are not specifying their products.
An exclusion search combines:
- Manufacturer search option
- OR and NOT Boolean search tools
- Grouping ( ) search feature
Steps to Perform an Exclusion Search
Follow the steps below to perform an exclusion search.
- Use the Section Filter to narrow the search to your desired division, subdivision, or section.
- Review the date range settings to match your needs.
- Click the Search Builder button at the end of the Simple Search bar.
- Enter each manufacturer (competitor) using the OR boolean operator between each manufacturer (competitor).
- Select all manufacturers (competitors) using shift/select.
- Using the grouping parenthesis ( ), group the entries.
- Add the NOT search tool.
- Enter your company using the manufacturer boolean search operator.
- Review the results within the Company and Project Activities tabs.
