Overview

SpecLink Cloud received a list of important improvements on 6/14/2024.

Improvements

The following improvements were made to SpecLink Cloud: 

• Allow Users to Disable Automated Reference Standards during Import
• Global Terms/Keywords Dropdowns Disappearing from Header/Footer Menu
• “Generic” Reference Standards Taking Over Specific Reference Standards during Import from Word
• Various code and data fixes have been applied

Allow Users to Disable Automated Reference Standards during Import

Currently when users Import a New Section from Word into SpecLink Cloud, any potential reference standards that match up with the Master and User lists of Reference Standards in their database will be converted to enhanced text with appropriate tags and links.

Now, users will have a new option in the My Settings page from the Dashboard with the option to turn off the automated conversion of such reference standards to enhanced text.

The default for Reference Standards conversion to enhanced text is on (active).

Global Terms/Keywords Dropdowns Disappearing from Header/Footer Menu

When users access the Header/Footer menu and click outside of the menu without clicking Preview and Save or Save, then re-enter the menu, the Global Terms and Keywords Dropdowns were missing. Users had to refresh their browser to bring it back.

This has been corrected, so the Global Terms and Keywords menu no longer disappear from the Header/Footer menu.

“Generic” Reference Standards Taking Over Specific Reference Standards during Import from Word

Since users have the ability to create their own reference standards, if they create a Reference Standard that is one word only (no numbers, symbols, etc.) such as “ASTM” and the word matches the beginning parts of other reference standards such as ASTM A109, then on import all reference standards that begin with ASTM were being ignored and replaced with the single instance of ASTM.

This has been corrected so that all such reference standards will convert to enhanced text per the correct Reference Standards designation during Import from Word.

Various Data Fixes Applied 

Various code and data fixes that are project or customer specific have been applied since the previous SpecLink Cloud release.
