Overview
SpecLink provides the ability to insert single entry choice fields for enhanced text (Section ID's, Units of Measure Fill in the Blanks, Global Terms, and Reference Standards,) in a paragraph.
Single entry choice fields are different from Single Select choice Fields. Single entry choice fields will not have a blue arrow drop down list, the radio button, or the checkbox.

Creating a Section ID Single Entry Choice Field
A unit of measure is indicated by green text and the hashtag (pound sign) icon as displayed below:
Follow these steps to create a Section ID single entry choice field and insert it into a paragraph.
- Access a section within a SpecLink Cloud project.
- Access the Document Manager by clicking the tab on the right side of the section editing window.

Click Choices from the Document Manager Menu.
Note: When creating a single entry choice field, the selection of single or multi select has no bearing on the new content.
- Click the "+" sign in the #1 entry field.
- From the drop down menu, select Section ID.
- Select the desired option from the list of available Section ID's for insertion into the section.
Note the option to Include the Section Title:
- Review the Choice List Preview.
- Click and hold the Drag Choice icon and drag the Section ID to the desired location in the section.
- Release the Drag Choice icon to place the Section ID.

Creating a Unit of Measure Single Entry Choice Field
A unit of measure is indicated by green text and the ruler icon as displayed below:
Follow these steps to create a unit of measure single entry choice field and insert it into a paragraph.
- Access a section within a SpecLink Cloud project.
- Access the Document Manager by clicking the tab on the right side of the section editing window.

Click Choices from the Document Manager Menu.
Note: When creating a single entry choice field, the selection of single or multi select has no bearing on the new content.
- Click the "+" sign in the #1 entry field.
- From the drop down menu, select Unit of Measure.
- Edit the Unit of Measure if necessary for insertion into the paragraph.
- Review the Choice List Preview.
- Click and hold the Drag Choice icon and drag the Unit of Measure to the desired location in the section.
- Release the Drag Choice icon to place the Unit of Measure.

Creating a Fill in the Blank Single Entry Choice Field
A standalone Fill in the Blank will be red as displayed below:
Follow these steps to create a Fill in the Blank single entry choice field and insert it into a paragraph.
- Access a section within a SpecLink Cloud project.
- Access the Document Manager by clicking the tab on the right side of the section editing window.

Click Choices from the Document Manager Menu.
Note: When creating a single entry choice field, the selection of single or multi select has no bearing on the new content.
- Click the "+" sign in the #1 entry field.
- From the drop down menu, select Fill in the Blank.
- Review the Choice List Preview. The single entry red fill in the blank will appear.
Remember, the selection box (or radio button) will not appear in the text.
- Click and hold the Drag Choice icon and drag the Fill in the Blank to the desired location in the section. The cursor will change to a hand to grab and drag the single choice.
- Release the Drag Choice icon to place the Fill in the Blank.
The new Fill in the Blank will be red as it is meant for text entry. Click once in the red Fill in the Blank and enter the desired text.

Creating a Global Term Single Entry Choice Field
A unit of measure is indicated by purple text and the globe icon as displayed below:
Follow these steps to create a Global Term single entry choice field and insert it into a paragraph.
- Access a section within a SpecLink Cloud project.
- Access the Document Manager by clicking the tab on the right side of the section editing window.

Click Choices from the Document Manager Menu.
Note: When creating a single entry choice field, the selection of single or multi select has no bearing on the new content.
- Click the "+" sign in the #1 entry field.
- From the drop down menu, select Global Terms.
- Select the desired option from the list of available Global Terms for insertion into the section.
- Review the Choice List Preview.
- Click and hold the Drag Choice icon and drag the Global Term to the desired location in the section.
- Release the Drag Choice icon to place the Global Term.

Creating a Reference Standard Single Entry Choice Field
A Reference Standard is indicated by green text and the book icon as displayed below:
Follow these steps to create a Reference Standard single entry choice field and insert it into a paragraph.
- Access a section within a SpecLink Cloud project.
- Access the Document Manager by clicking the tab on the right side of the section editing window.

Click Choices from the Document Manager Menu.
Note: When creating a single entry choice field, the selection of single or multi select has no bearing on the new content.
- Click the "+" sign in the #1 entry field.
- From the drop down menu, select Reference Standards.
- Select the desired option from the list of available Reference Standards for insertion into the section.
- Review the Choice List Preview.
- Click and hold the Drag Choice icon and drag the Reference Standard to the desired location in the section.
- Release the Drag Choice icon to place the Reference Standard.
