SpecLive Collaborate Version 2026.1.1 provides a new feature as well as enhancements and fixes to the system.
New Feature
The following new feature has been added to SpecLive Collaborate:
Add Review Pane Hide/Close Function
A new feature has been added to the Review pane that enables you to view tracked changes from all collaborators when Track Changes is enabled.
The Review pane displays all document edits made by collaborators along with Accept and Reject actions for each change.
Enhancements have been made to allow users to easily show, hide, and close the Review pane as needed. This gives users better control over their review workflow, reduces screen clutter, and improves usability while reviewing and managing tracked changes.
Enhancements
The following enhancements have been made to SpecLive Collaborate:
- Recipient Panel Toolbar Icon Corrections
- High Contrast Colors for User Edits
- Hide User's Avatar from Own Avatar List
- Track Changes Enable/Disable Function
- Clarify Language on Guest Screen
Recipient Panel Toolbar Icon Updates
In the newly added editing toolbar of the Recipient Panel, some icons were missing. This issue has now been addressed by adding all the previously missing icons, ensuring visual consistency and a complete user experience across the editor interface.
These corrections improve usability and align the toolbar with the expected design standards.
High Contrast Colors for User Edits
High‑contrast colors have been implemented to improve visibility and clarity of user edits within the Recipient Panel document. Each user is now assigned a distinct avatar color, which is consistently applied across all editing interactions.
When a user types, edits, or adds content using drag‑and‑drop, the newly added content now appears in the same color as the user’s avatar. The cursor color also matches the avatar color, providing clear identification of active user edits in real time.
Additionally, when opening the Review pane and checking Track Changes, the same color consistency is maintained for all tracked edits. This ensures a unified and accessible visual experience, making it easier to distinguish changes made by different users and improving overall collaboration and readability.
Hide User's Avatar from Own Avatar List
Previously, a user’s own avatar was displayed in the avatar list along with other collaborators, which could cause confusion in identifying active collaborators. This behavior has now been corrected.
The user’s personal avatar is no longer visible in their own avatar list, while remaining visible to other collaborators as expected. This enhancement improves clarity in the collaboration experience and ensures the avatar list accurately represents only other active users in the document.
Track Changes Enable/Disable Function
Previously, the Track Changes panel was displayed automatically whenever a user edited the document, and the Track Changes button in the toolbar did not correctly reflect its enabled or disabled state. This behavior has now been corrected.
The Track Changes functionality now works as expected: the toolbar button properly enables or disables based on user interaction, and the Track Changes panel is shown only when explicitly activated. This improvement ensures better user control, clearer behavior, and a more intuitive document review experience.
Clarify Language on Guest Screen
The language displayed on the Guest Mode layover has been updated to provide clearer and more informative guidance to users. The revised messaging now explicitly explains what actions are available and restricted when continuing as a guest.
The layover clearly states that guest users can view all documents and specifications within the project but cannot make edits. It also outlines specific limitations, such as the inability to leave comments, move specification content between panels, or collaborate with other users. Additionally, the message highlights the benefits of signing up for SpecLive Collaborate to encourage informed decision‑making.
This update improves transparency, reduces user confusion, and ensures guests clearly understand their access level before proceeding.

- A list of defects have been repaired including spacing issues when editing, toolbar icon spacing, and duplication of documents.
