SpecLive Collaborate Version 2025.1.0 provides the following new feature, enhancements, and fixes to the system.
New Feature
The new feature of SpecLive Collaborate 2025.1.0 is the creation of Short Links.
Short Links
The Short Links feature provides users with the ability to generate a secure, shortened URL for sharing project versions, ensuring ease of distribution, default access control, and seamless user experience.
Independent Link Generation:
- The Short Link or URL can be generated independently, without requiring specific recipients.
- This allows users to share the link freely across platforms like email, chat, or social media.
Default View-Only Access Rights:
- The Short URL grants View-Only Access by default.
- If named recipients are added, the system applies the access rights assigned to those recipients (e.g., Edit, Comment).
Configurable Expiration Policy:
- Customers can set a default expiration policy for Short Links (e.g., 7 days, 30 days, or custom durations) with the default set to never expire.
Enhancements
Enhancements included in this latest release are:
Shared Links
Sharing projects and corresponding access management has been made even more powerful with the following updates:
Dynamic Access Management
- Modify, remove, or restore access dynamically—giving you total control over who can edit or view projects.
Access Inheritance for Named Recipients
- Collaborators added to a project now retain their assigned access levels (View, Edit, Co-Owner) even when accessing it via the Short URL. Unnamed users continue to have View-Only access.
Email Notification Enhancements
- Project owners & editors now receive copies of all Share Invite notifications for better tracking and transparency.
Security & Authentication Improvements
- Unauthorized users are now automatically redirected to the login page within 10 seconds, ensuring better security handling.
Cybersecurity
The tech stack and backend infrastructure were modernized for better stability, performance, and cybersecurity posture.
Fixes
Various code and data fixes that are project or customer specific have been applied since the previous SpecLink Cloud release.
