Overview
These steps use a workflow that will place the Sheet Specs on a Sheet View in Revit® 2021 using the Link PDF option.
Use of this method will allow for the Spec Sheet information to be updated automatically as the project is revised and new sheet specs are generated.
Steps to Insert Sheet Specs into a Revit file
Follow the steps below to insert a Sheet Spec PDF from SpecLink Cloud into Revit® (version 2021).
- Using the Project browser, navigate to the sheet where you want the Sheet Spec to appear.
- From the Insert Tab, select the Link PDF option. (The PDF import tool is not recommended.)
- From the Link PDF dialog box, select the Sheet Spec PDF generated by SpecLink Cloud.
- In the Import PDF dialog box, select the page of the PDF you wish to import.
- Next, select a resolution. Recommended settings are 150 or 300 DPI.
- Click OK to close the Import PDF dialog box.
- Position the box that follows on the sheet and click to place the Sheet Spec.
- Use blue corner points to fine tune the size of the box to fit the Sheet Spec.
