Overview
SpecLink Cloud provides the ability to generate Sheet Specs in PDF format from the print menu within a project. This Sheet Specs output can then be inserted into Revit or AutoCAD®.
This process will place the Sheet Spec in a Layout tab in paper space within AutoCAD®. The steps are the same if you are using model space with the exception of step 5 below.
Steps to Insert Sheet Specs into an AutoCAD® file.
Follow the steps below to insert a Sheet Spec PDF from SpecLink Cloud into AutoCAD® (version 2021).
- From the Insert tab within the AutoCAD® file, select PDF Import.
- In the Select PDF File dialog box, select the PDF generated by SpecLink Cloud and click Open.
- In the Import PDF dialog box, select the page of PDF you wish to import in the Page to Import area on the left.
- In the Location area of the Import PDF dialog box select Specify insertion point on-screen.
- MODEL SPACE USERS ONLY - In the Location area of the Import PDF dialog box set the scale factor to 12.
- In the PDF Data to Import area of the PDF Import dialog box select the following options:

- Vector Geometry with solid fills
- True Type Text
- Raster Images
- Select OK to close the Import PDF dialog box.
- Select a point representing the lower left hand corner of the PDF to place the PDF on the sheet.
