Overview
The Executive Overview of SpecLive Impact displays specification activity linked to your company account. The Executive Overview provides a high-level overview of SpecLink specification activity over the last 2 years by default.
This Executive Overview is not generated for competitors, but is meant to provide an insight into your company's current place in the market. The results will show only complete months.

Accessing the Executive Overview
Access the Executive Overview by click the Executive Overview icon in the side menu pictured below.
When expanded, the side menu will display the names of the icons:
Layout of the Executive Overview:
The Executive Overview report includes the following:
- Total Number of companies specifying the client, including how many new firms are from the last 6 and 12 months respectively.
- Month to month breakdown showing the total number of projects specifying the client.
- Top 25 firms with the largest number of projects where the client has been specified.
- A regional US Map breaking down where the projects are located.
- A list of the name variations that have been collated into the results shown on the Executive Overview.
- List of the sections the organization is entitled to access results within.
Utilizing Filters
The Filters tool of the Executive Overview allows for a wider range of time periods and section granularity and firm location refinement.
The Date Range Filter
The Date Range Filter can be set from the Filters button located in the top left corner of the Executive Overview as pictured above, as well as from the Date Range Filter tool located in the top center of the Executive overview.
The default date range setting for the Executive Overview is "2 years".
The date range setting options are:
- Custom Range (Displays current selection date range)
- Year-to-Date
- 3 Months
- 6 months
- 1 Year
- 2 Years (default setting)
- Options for the last 4 quarters
Custom Range
Click the first option in the date range bar to reveal a calendar for selecting a custom date range as shown below.
This field will display the date range selected for all date range options (Last 12 Months, Last Month, Last 30 Days, etc.).
Year-to-Date
Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria from January 1 of the current year to the end of the most current month. If Year-To-Date is selected on the 15th of the month, the search criteria will run from the first of the year to the last day of the previous month.
The date range will be displayed in the custom range field. For example, on July 28th, the custom range field will display "01/01/2025 - 06/30/2025" as depicted below.
3 Months
Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria for the last 3 months. The date range will be displayed in the custom range field.
6 Months
Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria for the last 6 months. The date range will be displayed in the custom range field.
1 Year
Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria for the last year. The date range will be displayed in the custom range field.
2 Years (default setting)
The 2 Year filter is the default if there has been no saved search set as the default. Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria for the last 2 years. The date range will be displayed in the custom range field.
Options for the last 4 quarters
Select this option to view all projects based on the search criteria for the selected quarter. The date range will be displayed in the custom range field.
Sections Filter
The Sections Filter allows for the filtering of sections based on the organizations section entitlements.
Using the Sections Filter
Follow the steps below to filter by section:
- Click the Filters button located in the top left corner of the Executive Overview.
- Click the "+" plus sign next the Sections. (Keep in mind the sections that appear are the sections the organization is entitled to view.)
- Click in the check boxes associated with the desired sections.
- Click the blue Apply button.
Firm Location Filter
The Firm Location Filter allows for the filtering based on the selected project location.
Using the Firm Location Filter
Follow the steps below to filter by location:
- Click the Filters button located in the top left corner of the Executive Overview.
- Click the "+" plus sign next the Firm Location.
- Click in the check boxes associated with the desired locations in the US and Canada.
- Click the blue Apply button.
Clearing the Filters
When a filter has been applied, the current filters will be displayed above the Filters button in the top left corner of the Executive Overview.
Click the X on any current filter will clear that filter only.
A Clear Filters button is located at the far right end of the Current Filters display.
Clicking the Clear Filters button will clear all of the current filters.
Saving Searches
Specific report configurations can be saved and made available through report scheduling by selecting the “Save this search” graphic to the right of the filters button.
