Overview
The SpecLink Cloud BIM Viewer provides access to the building project through synced Revit models. These synced files are generated from Autodesk Revit and synced to SpecLink Cloud using the SpecLink Revit Plug-In. The portion of the building model included in the Revit Model as well as the displayed building (MEP and structural) systems is based on the settings in the Revit 3D Views.
The SpecLink Cloud Model Viewer:
- Preserves the integrity of Revit Architectural, Structural, and MEP building project models by restricting any viewer of the design to make any changes to either the original model or the BIM model displayed in Building Viewer.
- Retains all BIM data from the Revit design for visual display.
- Provides secure access to the design models so that only authorized members of your team or project contributors can access your models.
This article will cover Syncing a Revit Model to a SpecLink Cloud Project and how to Open a Synced Revit Model.

Please note that the previous process of uploading Revit models using controls within SpecLink Cloud (referred to hereafter as “legacy” uploads) are discontinued with this SpecLink Cloud release. Any Revit models previously uploaded will continue to function within SpecLink Cloud, including the legacy 3D viewer function.

Opening a Synced Revit Model
The BIM Viewer can be accessed by clicking on the cube icon associated with the Revit Model, either from the Dashboard Page or from the BIM Files tab in the SpecLink Cloud Project itself.
Additional interaction with the integrating a Revit model with the SpecLink Cloud project can be seen when clicking on objects in the BIM Viewer and see the corresponding element card in SpecLink Cloud become highlighted (in the BIM Details List View mode in SpecLink Cloud). This also works in reverse as well, by clicking on an element card in SpecLink Cloud the element in the BIM Viewer will become highlighted as well.
