Send Project in SpecLink Cloud

Overview

Designed for Company level collaborators who work with outside contributors​, users with collaboration enabled can now send a copy of a project to another company level SpecLink Cloud account holder​.

When a project is sent, a copy is made and parties are working on separate projects. When a project is shared all parties are working on the SAME project. Learn more about sharing projects here.

Sending a Project

Follow the steps below to send a project to another user.

1. Locate the project from the Project list on the SpecLink Cloud Dashboard.
   
   
2. Access the options menu by clicking the 3 vertical dots on the right end of the project row.
   
   
3. Select Send from the options menu:
   
   
   
   The Send Project layover screen will appear. 
   
   
   
   
4. Enter the email address of the recipient. Enter ONLY the email address and no other extraneous characters (parenthesis, commas, greater than, less than, etc.) in this field.
   
   
5. Select whether any attached supplemental documents or comments will be included in the sent project. 
6. Click the blue Send Project button.
   
   

Note: this button will become active when the email entered is recognized as a valid SpecLink Cloud account. It does not recognize of the account has the necessary level or permissions to accept the transfer of a project.

When the project has been sent, the sender will receive a notification letting them know the project is being sent.

The recipient of the project will see an "Incoming Projects" folder on the Projects Dashboard.

Accessing the Incoming Projects folder will open the Incoming Projects window. Here, the recipient will choose to accept or reject the incoming project.

Prerequisites to sending a project:

• Sender must hold an active Company level SpecLink Cloud account with collaboration enacted.
• Recipient ​must also hold an active Company level SpecLink Cloud account with collaboration enacted.
• Projects will be sent overnight. An email will be sent to the recipient once the transfer project job is complete.
