Overview
One of the pillars of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the digital representation of specifiable materials and assemblies as geometric objects within a model. A Revit file is a collection of these BIM elements and contains information about the assembly such as manufacturer, dimensions, and model type. This information can align very well with what the specifier is managing within the specifications. When a Revit file is synced to SpecLink Cloud, these elements become available for review and can be linked directly with the specifications enhancing coordination during the project.
Reviewing BIM Elements from a Revit Model
Follow the steps below to review the BIM Elements from a synced Revit Model.
- From within a SpecLink Cloud Project, select the BIM files tab.
- Click on the name of the synced Revit file.
- The list of BIM elements included in the Revit file will appear on the left of the window, while the sections list (All and Active) will appear on the right.
When an element has more than 1 instance, a "Count" in the top right corner of the element block will be present. Click the count number, like the "5” in the image below, to review all instances of the element.
- Click the "Show More" link within the element to review the detailed information of the element.
